Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, continued his rich vein of form on Saturday, scoring twice to help Galatasaray secure a commanding 4-1 victory over Sivasspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
With his latest brace, Osimhen has now netted 24 times in 27 league appearances and boasts an impressive total of 33 goals in 37 matches across all competitions this season.
The Nigerian international has been in red-hot form, finding the net four times in his last three games for the Turkish giants.
He currently leads the Turkish league scoring chart, sitting four goals ahead of Istanbul Basaksehir’s Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek.
The goal-fest at NEF Stadium was settled in the first half, with all five goals coming before the break. Former Arsenal star Lucas Torreira opened the scoring in the ninth minute.
Osimhen then got on the scoresheet in the 15th minute, extending Galatasaray’s lead.
Baris Yilmaz added a third in the 21st minute, before Osimhen struck again in the 31st minute to register his second of the evening.
Sivasspor responded almost immediately, pulling one back in the 33rd minute through Rey Manaj.
Osimhen was substituted in the 70th minute, making way for Belgian veteran Dries Mertens.
The win sees Galatasaray increase their points tally to 83, moving eight points clear of rivals Fenerbahce.
However, Fenerbahce have a chance to reduce the gap to five points if they overcome Besiktas on Sunday.
