Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, a significant figure in Nigerian political history and the mother of former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has passed away.
Her passing marks the end of an era, as she was also the wife of Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki, the Senate leader during Nigeria’s Second Republic.
On Tuesday, Dr. Saraki announced the news, sharing his profound grief and the deep loss felt by his family.
In his heartfelt statement, Dr. Saraki expressed, “With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Almighty God, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and matriarch, Chief Mrs. Florence Morenike Saraki, who peacefully transitioned today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024.”
Dr. Saraki also mentioned that details regarding the funeral arrangements will be disclosed in due course. He extended his gratitude to all for their support during this difficult time, saying, “We appreciate your love, prayers, and support as we mourn Mama’s passing.”
