The Nigerian Army has debunked a recruitment advertisement circulating across various online platforms, describing it as fake and cautioning the public to be vigilant.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, made it clear that the Army has not commenced any recruitment exercise for the Direct Short Service Commission or Short Service Commission for the year.
“The information currently making the rounds about DSSC and SSC recruitment did not originate from the Nigerian Army,” Anele stated. “At this time, no such recruitment or commissioning process has been announced.”
Anele urged Nigerians to disregard the false recruitment notice, stressing the importance of relying solely on official communication channels for accurate updates about military activities.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to caution members of the public against falling prey to fraudulent individuals who take advantage of fake advertisements to deceive and extort innocent citizens,” she warned.
She also advised that anyone who encounters or possesses information about individuals involved in such fraudulent activities should promptly report to the appropriate authorities.
“When the Army is ready to begin any recruitment exercise, the public will be duly informed through our verified and official platforms,” Anele assured.
The Army’s clarification comes amid rising concerns over online scams targeting job seekers across the country.
