The Nasarawa State Police Command has achieved a significant milestone with the arrest of a suspected criminal and the recovery of a firearm along with live ammunition during a raid in Karu Local Government Area of the State
Following the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Shettima Jauro Mohammed, for continuous and aggressive operations against criminal hideouts across the state, officers from the Masaka Division launched a precise raid at a notorious black spot known as “Me and You” in the Masaka area.
The operation took place on April 25, 2025, around 10:30 p.m.
In a statement issued by the State Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, it was revealed that, “During the operation, one Buhari Mustapha, a 25-year-old male from Katsina State, was arrested.
“A thorough search led to the recovery of an English-made Beretta pistol with breech number APL-C42201378075 and twelve (12) rounds of 9mm live ammunition. The recovered items have been secured as exhibits.”
The statement further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has directed a comprehensive investigation into the case, aimed at tracking down other accomplices and intensifying efforts to suppress criminal activities within the area and the state at large.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism, CP Mohammed encouraged them to sustain the momentum in the ongoing campaign against crime.
