The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has warmly welcomed the defection of former Senate President Pius Anyim to the APC, describing it as a “huge blessing” to the party.
Ganduje praised Anyim’s wealth of experience, stating it will greatly benefit the party.
At a ceremony in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, Ganduje received Anyim, who switched from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC.
He assured Anyim of equal opportunities within the party, acknowledging his valuable experience and followership, according to Peoples Gazette.
Ganduje emphasized the importance of the South-East region joining mainstream politics, urging them to move beyond opposition status.
He expressed his excitement, speaking on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, and highlighted the significance of Anyim’s defection to the APC.
“I’m elated to receive such an important personality into our party. I want to assure you, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, that you are welcome to the largest political party in Africa. Be assured that we will give you equal opportunity like old members of our party so that you can come to the table with your huge experience and followership,” Mr Ganduje added.
