Former Italy international, Francesco Coco, has backed Inter Milan to pose a serious threat to Barcelona in tonight’s UEFA Champions League semi-final showdown at Camp Nou.
Coco, who once wore the jerseys of both clubs during his playing days, expressed his confidence in Inter’s attacking strength during an interview with Tuttosport, stating that the Italian side has what it takes to overcome the La Liga giants.
“For this reason, I expect them to be able to do better in the Champions League than in the league, despite Barcelona being the worst possible opponent at the moment,” Coco said.
“It (Barca) is certainly the team that plays best in the world and that is the most entertaining.
“They have incredible quality with players with a very high technical level; however, Inter have weapons at their disposal to try to hurt the Catalans.”
Coco’s remarks reflect the belief that while Barcelona might be in top form, Inter shouldn’t be underestimated in a high-stakes encounter like this.
