Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti and the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, will be in Owerri, Imo State capital on Tuesday, August 15, to commence the party’s governorship campaign.
The campaign, set for the upcoming November 11 governorship election, is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, August 22 in Owerri.
The Achonu/Nwulu Campaign Organisation disclosed this in a statement released on Monday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
The party’s flag bearer is Athan Achonu and his deputy governorship candidate, Tony Nwulu.
Promising a significant event, Achonu hinted at a rally reminiscent of Peter Obi’s monumental “One-Million-Man march” during his presidential run.
He mentioned that both Obi and Otti, along with other party leaders, aim to make a substantial impact at the event.
Achonu plans to reveal his comprehensive manifesto at the rally, urging Imo State residents to attend and hear his vision for positive change.
The manifesto focuses on navigating the current economic challenges and transitioning from consumption to production to better the state’s socioeconomic stance.
The LP governorship candidate will be hoping to unseat the incumbent governor of the state and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hope Uzodinma.
