The Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, Simon Ekpa, has extended an invitation to political elites in the South-East to participate in the upcoming Declaration of Biafra Liberation Convention.
In a statement posted on his official X account on Friday, Ekpa announced that the convention will take place from November 29 to December 3, 2024, in Lahti, Finland, aiming to advance the cause of Biafran independence.
He emphasized that Nigeria has consistently failed to address the rights of Biafrans, citing ongoing injustices and marginalization.
He encouraged attendees to contact the Biafra Government for accreditation details.
Ekpa highlighted that the movement’s efforts align with the UN Charter on self-determination and international human rights law.
The invitation comes after Ekpa previously declared that Biafra’s liberation would be announced on December 2, 2024.
He also called on Nigerian government officials, including Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, to attend the event.
Despite ongoing calls for his arrest by the Nigerian government, Ekpa remains resolute in his pursuit of Biafra’s independence.
“On behalf of the Biafra Government (BRGIE), we are happy to invite you as a Biafran to the Declaration of the Restoration of Independence of Biafra Convention (DRIBC 2024).
“All arrangements have been adequately made by the Biafra Government (BRGIE) for the accreditation to the event and you can contact info@biafrarepublicgov.org.
“As you are all aware, the establishment of Nigeria has done nothing but violate our rights as formal citizens. Nigeria is gradually coming to an end and we are bringing forth the opportunity for you to join us in actualizing the Biafran dream where all men and women will be equal in the eyes of the creator.
“The steps we are taking for the actualization of our independent state are stipulated in the UN Charter of peoples rights to self-determination and above all, within the confines of the international law on human rights.
“We are excited and hoping to welcome you as a delegate in Finland”, he stated.
