The newly-inaugurated Minister of Sports, John Owan Enoh said President Bola Tinubu saw him fit to head the sports ministry.
Enoh said this while fielding questions from the press after assuming office.
This came on the premise of his inexperience in sports, but he, however, became the 36th Minister of Sports.
While reacting to his new role, Enoh maintained that he is getting up to speed.
The 57-year-old added that the president found him worthy to rebuild sports in the country.
He explained that since he was saddled with the new responsibility, he has been reading about sports, adding that he did not lobby for the role.
In his words, “I didn’t lobby to be sports minister.
“President Bola Tinubu saw me fit and decided to put the task of building sports in Nigeria.
“Since I was assigned this portfolio, I have been reading about sports.”
