Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has unveiled a new look after his release from Kwara correctional centre.
Portable was released after Fuji music legend Saheed Osupa decided to withdraw the legal case filed against him.
Osupa had earlier taken legal action against Portable over allegations of criminal defamation, cyberbullying, threat to life, and public misconduct. The singer was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command and remanded in prison after failing to meet bail conditions.
Following his release, Portable unveiled a new look, sharing images and videos on his Instagram live that showcased his transformed appearance.
The court had granted him bail at ₦1 million, with two sureties. One of the sureties had to be approved by the Chairman of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria.
However, Osupa’s management released a statement on Monday announcing that the case was being dropped on the singer’s instruction. The decision came after several Nigerians appealed to Osupa on behalf of Portable, who had remained in custody due to his inability to meet bail requirements.
The statement read, “The legal action previously instituted against Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been formally withdrawn on the instruction of Osupa himself.”
