Ousmane Dembélé’s hamstring injury has cast doubt on his availability for Paris Saint-Germain’s crucial return leg against Arsenal next week.
The French winger had an explosive start at the Emirates, scoring a brilliant goal just four minutes into the match, bringing his season tally to 32 goals.
His strike secured a 1-0 victory for PSG, putting them in a strong position heading into the semi-final’s second leg.
However, Dembélé was substituted in the second half for Bradley Barcola. While he did not show any immediate signs of discomfort as he exited the field, it was later revealed that the substitution was due to injury concerns.
According to RMC Sport, Dembélé will be closely monitored over the coming days.
PSG manager Luis Enrique expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance in London but acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding Dembélé’s condition for the second leg in Paris.
In his post-match press conference, Enrique shared: “I don’t know anything. The medical tests will take place tomorrow (Wednesday). It’s nothing serious, it’s quite minor, but there’s a doubt for the return match.”
Luis Enrique remained optimistic, stating that PSG can still reach the Champions League final regardless of whether Dembélé plays or not.
“We’re going to try to get Dembélé back on the pitch,” he said. “But we’re a real team. If Ousmane can play, that’s better. But if he doesn’t, we’ll still be a real team. We’ve been saying that since the start of the season.”
