An All Progressives Congress chieftain, Chief Frank Kokori has assured Nigerians that the country will not collapse.
Mokori, who was the former General Secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers opined that President Bola Tinubu should instead be given more time to rearrange the nation
Kokori aired his view in an interview with Daily Post, recently.
He said that with over two decades of democracy in Nigeria without a refinery, the labour and civil organizations kept mute.
He explained that the uproar to make refineries functional at Tinubu’s regime was a conspiracy of most of his opponents and adversaries.
He said, “How can Nigeria collapse? Nigeria is a big country; it is just that we have been misruled for some time. The problem with Nigeria is that democracy has been there for 24 years, and out of all those years, we don’t have a refinery, and nobody was saying anything. The labour unions and the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) were all complacent.
“They weren’t saying anything; nobody was saying anything. And just because Tinubu came to power now and with the conspiracy of most of his opponents and adversaries, anything he does must be criticised.”
He added that “things are tough in Nigeria and everybody knows it,” adding that President Tinubu cannot “change everything in just two and a half months.”
