The highly anticipated international friendly between Russia and Nigeria has been scheduled to take place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Friday, June 6.
The Russia Football Union confirmed the venue through an announcement published on its official website on Friday.
Valery Karpin’s team last played at the Luzhniki Stadium during a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Croatia on September 1, 2021.
The upcoming encounter will mark the first-ever meeting between Russia and Nigeria at senior international level.
Meanwhile, the Russians are also set to battle Belarus in another friendly fixture, which will be staged in Minsk on Tuesday, June 10.
Before locking horns with Russia, the Super Eagles will feature in the Unity Cup invitational tournament, billed to hold in London in May.
Eric Chelle’s side is slated to face their long-standing rivals, Ghana’s Black Stars, in their opening match on Wednesday, May 28.
Other teams confirmed for the Unity Cup include the Reggae Boys of Jamaica and the Soca Warriors of Trinidad and Tobago.
