The Sole Administrator for Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Étè Ibas (retd.), has arrived in the state to formally assume office following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
Ibas touched down at the Port Harcourt International Airport at approximately 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, where he was received by top government officials and security personnel.
Accompanied by the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Zone 16, he proceeded directly to the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Upon arrival at the Government House, he was given a tour by senior government officials before heading into a closed-door meeting. The meeting includes high-ranking security officers, a Federal Government delegation, and state government representatives.
Vice Admiral Ibas was officially sworn in as the sole administrator of Rivers State on Wednesday by President Tinubu, following the declaration of emergency rule and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and the state House of Assembly members.
