Popular socialite, Charly Boy, has alleged that the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has reportedly fixed Saturday, September 16 as the date to deliver its final ruling on the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
He made this announcement on Monday, August 28, via his verified X handle, alerting the supporters of Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, aka. OBIdients.
He wrote, “OBIDIENTS ARE U Ready?
Tribunal (PEPT) has announced that the judgment date for the cases involving Peter Obi and the Labour Party against Bola Tinubu, INEC, Shettima, and APC, as well as the PDP’s case of Atiku against APC, INEC, and Tinubu, is scheduled for September 16, 2023.”

The tribunal is expected to deliver its ruling in the suit challenging the electoral victory of President Bola Tinubu who was the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the February 25 elections.
Recall that, after adopting the final written addresses of the parties involved in the suit, the five-man tribunal headed by Justice Haruna Simon Tsamani reserved judgment and said a date to deliver the verdict would be communicated to concerned parties and their lawyers.
The reported date is the final day available for the tribunal to deliver its judgment on the three petitions instituted by the Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour Party and the Allied Peoples Movement together with their presidential candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Peter Obi, and Princess Chichi Ojei respectively.
The defendants in the cases are Tinubu, the APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Although, as at the time of filing this report, the tribunal was yet to make an official statement on the date to deliver its ruling.
In an earlier tweet, the Area fada 1, as he is fondly called, had spoken on behalf of the Obidients, as he is one himself, saying they would not accept a verdict from the tribunal ordering for a re-run of the presidential election.
He said the court had given judgment in favour of other politicians without ordering a rerun, insisting that Obi’s case won’t be different.
He wrote, “We Refuse, Reject And Condemn A Rerun.
“If they, the judiciary, did it for Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, and they also did even greater wonders for Hope Uzodinmma of Imo state; Surely, they can do even greater for Peter Obi. What is good for the goose is good #NoToRerun.”
