The All Progressives Congress called on the aggrieved parties in the Saturday election to stop being dillussional, that the result must be announced by the INEC.
This call was made during a media conference, organised by the management of the party today, in order to address the misunderstanding, going on in the polity, concerning the process of the ongoing collation of results of the Saturday presidential election in Nigeria.
While speaking at the conference today, the Special Adviser, media communications and public affairs, APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Dele Alake, described the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, as the thesame party, separated by selfish interest.
According to him, election is like a pregnant woman, who must give birth to baby.
He therefore called on the aggrieved parties to keep calm and wait for the results to be collated and declared, noting that victory must be given to the winner of the poll.
One would recalled that, there was a pandemonium at the international conference center, the INEC national collation center in Abuja yesterday, when Senator Dino Melaye raised alarm that, there was an ongoing manipulation of results, due to his alledged compromising result of the Ekiti State election, which he said there was an over-voting.
Meanwhile, despite the explanation and intervention of the INEC Boss and the election observers, they were asking for an immediate stoppage of the process and fixing of a new date for a new election.
The aggrieved parties; Peoples Democratic Party, Labor Party and African Democratic Party, held a joint press conference in Abuja today, calling for immediate resignation of the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu and total cancellation of the election.
However, the All Progressives Congress, during its press conference today, said that the process must continue and victory must also be given to the winner, at the end of the results collation process.
The party described the elements, calling for cancellation of the election to stop being dillussional because, we are not in 1993, when June 12 election was annulled by the same elements.
