The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has intercepted another attempt to smuggle cocaine to Saudi Arabia, uncovering the illegal substance cleverly concealed inside bottles of body lotion.
Femi Babafemi, NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, revealed in a statement on Sunday that operatives discovered ten wraps of cocaine hidden in the lotion containers.
The interception comes just days after a similar bust, where parcels of cocaine were found tucked inside religious books destined for Saudi Arabia.
“Barely a week after NDLEA officers discovered parcels of cocaine in Saudi-bound religious books, the vigilant operatives have again intercepted tens of wraps of the same substance in bottles of body lotion heading the same route,” Babafemi stated.
He also shared a video of the seized items, highlighting the agency’s sustained efforts to curb drug trafficking, especially along routes notorious for smuggling attempts.
The agency urged the public to remain vigilant and pledged to continue its crackdown on drug cartels attempting to exploit international travel routes.
