The Labour Party has debunked the rumour making round, that the party has requested the Independent National Electoral Commission, to produce the materials used, during the last Saturday’s election in Nigeria.
It was all over the media, early today, that the party has requested INEC to present all the materials used, during the election, for the party to kick-start it legal redress at the court.
However, the party has denied, requesting for such, saying the materials used during the election, were fraudulent.
While denying this, through its Twitter handle today, the party wrote, “Greetings to you, our supporters, & sympathisers.
“Be informed, we have not requested evidences of the fraudulent results collated by INEC be sent via any online platform. We are careful to avoid mischievous people taking advantage of the process. Thanks
#WeShallReclaimOurMandate.”
The presidential candidate of the party, Gregory Peter Obi, lost to the major rival from the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who won the last Saturday’s election, after polling a score of 8, 794, 726 votes.
