Arsenal narrowly prevented Liverpool from popping their Premier League title champagne on Wednesday night, settling for a tense 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners appeared on course for victory after first-half strikes from Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard put them ahead.
However, Crystal Palace showed resilience, with Eberechi Eze levelling the score through a well-taken volley.
The drama didn’t end there. In the 83rd minute, Palace substitute Jean-Philippe Mateta stunned the home crowd with a delightful chipped finish over goalkeeper David Raya, completing the comeback.
Arsenal, now second with 67 points from 34 matches, managed to keep the title race alive, for now.
Liverpool, sitting on 79 points with a game in hand, missed the chance to clinch the title midweek but need just a draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday to secure it.
