Not fewer than 60 members of House of Representatives from the Peoples Democratic Party have demanded for the resignation of the party’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Ililya Damagum.
The lawmakers threatened to dump PDP for another party if Damagum does not tender his resignation letter immediately.
The lawmakers accused the party’s Acting National chairman of anti-party activities.
Among other demands, they also demanded his replacement with another person fro the North Central in line with the constitution of the party.
The PDP lawmakers, convened by Hon Ugochinyere Ikenga, who led five other lawmakers to address reporters at the National Assembly on Monday, stressed that the Acting National Chairman has been allegedly engaging in anti-party activities, and sold the party to the All Progressives Congress “for a plate of porridge.”
