Sokoto State marked the 58th birthday of its former governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, (Matawallen Sokoto) on Tuesday, with glowing tributes and appreciation for his contributions to the state and the nation.
The former Senior Special Assistant to Senator Tambuwal on media, Kabir Assada, issued a statement praising the senator, who turned 58 on Wednesday, January 10, as a “luminary of transformative governance and a statesman par excellence”.
Assada highlighted Tambuwal’s legacy as the governor of Sokoto State from 2015 to 2023, where he implemented various initiatives that improved the education, healthcare, and infrastructure sectors of the state.
He said Tambuwal’s vision and dedication had empowered the youth, enhanced the welfare of the people, and created an environment conducive to growth and prosperity.
He also commended Tambuwal’s leadership style, which he described as “a rare amalgamation of wisdom, humility, and an unwavering commitment to justice”.
Assada said Tambuwal had etched his name into the annals of exemplary leadership and inspired the nation as a whole. He, therefore, wished the senator a happy birthday and prayed for his continued success and well-being.
Senator Tambuwal, who represents Sokoto South in the National Assembly, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. He served as the 12th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria from 2011 to 2015.
He is also the founder of the Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Foundation, a non-governmental organization that focuses on education, health, and empowerment.
