A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded not fewer than 10 protesters in prison for their involvement in the recent #EndBadGovernance protests.
The protesters, who were arrested for demonstrating against the government’s policies, were arraigned on charges including treason, conspiracy, and inciting mutiny.
The court remanded nine male protesters in the Kuje Correctional Centre and one female protester in Suleja prison, according to Daily Trust.
The trial and ruling on their bail application have been fixed for September 11.
The defendants, who pleaded not guilty, were accused of levying war against the state, attacking police officers, and burning government and private buildings.
They were arraigned on six counts, including alleged treason and intent to destabilize Nigeria.
