The Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has assured that there will be a remarkable security reform in Nigeria within the next one year.
Barely 24 hours after being sworn in as cabinet members, the new ministers made this announcement on Tuesday while addressing journalists on the occasion of the assumption of office at the Ship House, Ministry of Defence, Abuja.
Badaru reassured the public that he and the minister of state could not betray the trust bestowed upon them by President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, there would be significant improvements in the country’s security condition within a year.
He assured Tinubu, who, like other Nigerians, is eager to secure the country’s security, that he and Matawalle will do everything in their power to fulfil Tinubu’s mission.
Matawalle, for his part, promised that the Ministry of Defence will make every effort to create a formidable defence structure that could deal with any danger.
