Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the management of Auchi polytechnic has shut down the institution.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed by the institution’s Acting Registrar, Mrs. F.I. Eshiotse in Auchi, through a press statement on Thursday.
The varsity’s shut down was done in accordance with the directive of the Federal Ministry of Education that all institution of learning must be shut down in preparation for the February 25 general elections in the country.
The statement, dated February 20, stated that the closure will begin on February 22 and that regular academic activities will resume in March 2023.
It also added that staff members who provide essential services are not impacted by the closure.
Mrs. Eshiotse said that residents of the hostels, including students, were required to leave by Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at noon.
