Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation HADIN KAI are currently engaged in an intense exchange of gunfire with fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province following an attack on Buni Gari, a community in Yobe State.
The Nigerian Army confirmed the confrontation in a brief post shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
“Troops of Operation HADIN KAI currently in a fierce battle against ISWAP attack at Buni Gari, Yobe State. Details later,” the post stated.
