The Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulmalik Zubairu, has donated N50,000 to each victim of the recent Zamfara military airstrike.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the 19 victims of the incident from Malele and Mutunji communities of Dansadau emirate, Maru Local Government Area, are currently receiving treatment at Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau.
Zubairu gave the donation during his visit to the victims at the hospital in Gusau on Tuesday.
He described the incident as unfortunate and worrisome that never happened in the state.
He said, “I was highly disturbed when I received the tragic news of this ugly incident.
“A single word alone can not quantify my worries about this terrible and annoying incident.
“As Muslims, we have no option than to accept what ever Allah destined for us.
“I am using this medium to extend my condolences to the families of the deceased, injured victims currently receiving treatment in the hospital and Dansadau Emirate Council.”
According to him, tackling insecurity through engagement of youths on skills acquisition is one of his major blueprints, if elected to represent Maru/Bungudu federal constituency in the 2023 general elections.
He added, “Part of my blueprints is to engage youths on skills acquisition aimed at shielding our teeming youths from engaging in activities fuelling insecurity.”
