Governor Hyacinth Alia has appointed Denen Aondoakaa as the new head of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
The appointment was officially announced in a statement on Monday.
Prior to his new role, Aondoakaa served as the principal special assistant to the governor, overseeing the delivery unit, according to Peoples Gazette.
His career includes significant experience in the banking and energy sectors, having worked as a branch operational manager at Fidelity Bank.
Aondoakaa also held the position of head of revenue optimisation at the Jos Electricity Distribution Company’s Makurdi Regional Office and served as a technical adviser at the Benue Internal Revenue Service.
Aondoakaa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration in Finance.
According to the statement, his appointment takes effect immediately.
Additionally, Governor Alia has redeployed the former head of the bureau, Denis Akura, who will now serve as an adviser on financial and economic strategy, planning, and development.
