The Adamawa State Senator Ishaku Abbo has denied allegations of a sexual scandal following the emergence of a viral video.
It is worthy of note that, this is the second time the senator is involved in a public scandal; the previous case was during his first senate term, Abbo made headlines for attacking a breastfeeding mother in a sex toy shop in Abuja.
In the recently leaked video, a light-skinned man is seen engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman purportedly married, with Senator Abbo’s name being linked to the unidentified man in the video. This allegation remains unverified by credible sources.
In response to the video’s release, a press conference was held where Abbo denied being the man in question, stating, “How can you identify a person without seeing his face, his body, only parts of his legs and you said it is Senator Abbo?”
The senator, who was ousted from the Senate by an Appeal Court earlier this year, attributed the scandal to political opponents, labeling it “timid blackmail.”
He asserted, “Blackmail cannot stop me from winning elections… My people love me. No amount of blackmail can stop me.”
Abbo threatened legal action against those behind the video, emphasizing that attempts to tarnish his reputation would not deter his supporters from voting for him based on his Senate performance.
