Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, insisting that it was time to move on with his life.
Recall that the former speaker is the son of Theodore Orji, a former Governor of Abia State.
Enyinnaya briefed some of his close supporters on Monday night, saying the move had become very necessary, according to Daily Post.
“After careful consultation and personal decision, I have decided to exit the PDP. It’s time to move on with our lives,” he said.
The resignation is coming shortly after Chris Nwagboso, a former Deputy Chief of Staff (office of the Deputy Governor), in Abia State, resigned his membership of the PDP.
Nwagboso made his resignation known in a letter he personally addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman, Ehi-Na-Uguru/Osokwa Ward 5, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Abia State.
In a related development, the entire executive committee members of the PDP, Item ward C, in Bende local government area of the State, have also resigned from the party.
Recall that the PDP lost the last governorship election in the State to the Labour Party, with Alex Otti emerging as the governor.
