Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has called on past governors in the state to bury the hatchet and join hands with him to build the state.
Governor Lawal made the call in a statement issued to newamen in Gusau, the State capital by the chairman, Local Organizing Committee, Hon. Mukhtar Lugga, who doubles as the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
The past governors include Alhaji Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi, Senator Abdulaziz Abubakar Yari and the Minister of State for Defense, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
Governor Lawal also invited them to the official inauguration of the local security outfit, Community Protection Guards, CPG, to restore peace and stability in the State, according to Daily Post.
According to the statement, the occasion is expected to be graced by governors from the Northwest and other prominent individuals from the northern part of the country.
“Governor Lawal has been calling on the former governors of the state to abandon their differences to work together for the progress of the state.
“He promised to be fair, open and transparent in his personal and official interaction in conformity with his oath of office.”
