A former Governor of Lagos State and Hon. Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, has thrown a huge punch at the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, a.k.a. Jandor.
Fashola said, simply following the governor around or being a camera man does not mean Jandor understands the way to govern people.
He said this to hit Jandor, as he was once a journalist under the APC.
The Director, Election Planning and Monitoring, Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressive Congress made this statement on Thursday, at the the formal launching of “Eko O Ni Baje” 10,000 Foot Soldiers, in Lagos.
Fashola said, “I did that job for eight years and part of what helped me was that I was chief of staff to the governor, I saw it up close but even then, that wasn’t enough.
“So just following a governor, being a camera man and then watching him for eight years, you think you will now be a governor, you are not ready. Go to our leadership school, you are not yet ready.
“And that’s why we would see their adverts, they are focusing on N51bn that Lagos is generating but they don’t see the immigrant population that is coming in everyday.
“The bigger the prosperity the bigger the problem. So their party sees only money, they don’t see people, they don’t see responsibility.
“Do you want them to come and touch that money?”
Jandor started his career with Journalism and he was a journalist for more than twenty years. He eventually ventured into politics as a member of APC. He was the convener of the movement of Lagos4Lagos, a movement under the APC.
He eventually defected to PDP and he is currently their gubernatorial candidate of the 2023 Lagos gubernatorial election.
