Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the comment made by the newly inaugurated Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, saying he would get himself and President Bola Tinubu into political trouble.
Tinubu, on Monday, swore-in Wike and 44 others as ministers at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Upon resumption of office, Wike vowed to return the FCT to its original masterplan and does not in any way plan to witchhunt anybody.
He said land allottees who have been given Certificates of Occupancy but failed to develop would also lose their lands to give way to those ready to build.
While responding to questions about whether his threatened demolition will be used as a form of vendetta against his enemies, Wike said, “Say the truth, you don’t like those who step on toes. I will step on my toes”.
Wike also promised to end open grazing in the city, stressing he would consult with the herders to find a last solution to open grazing.
Reacting to Wike’s comment, Sani, in a statement issued on Tuesday, stated that the capacity and competence of Wike to deliver on his responsibility is without a doubt.
However, there is also a possibility that the former Rivers governor will get himself and Tinubu into political trouble with his utterances and actions.
He wrote, “The capacity and competence of the new FCT minister to deliver is without doubt.
“The possibility of getting himself and the President into serious political trouble by his utterances or actions is also without doubt. He will have to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it.”
