The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has berated civil servants over poor maintenance of government properties and other amenities kept in their care.
In a video culled from TVC, Wike slammed the government workers during his speech at an inauguration ceremony at the state, where he decried the bad maintenance of government properties.
While calling for effective maintenance of government properties, the former Peoples Democratic Party presidential aspirants said civil servants were the worst in maintaining anything.
He said, “My problem now is what I’m I going to this with this property? I was asking people, you and I know that the major problem we have is a maintenance problem, and one of those that I have seen in life that can not maintain anything, with all due respect to them, are civil servants.
“I can tell you that, those of you who are from civil service before; Deputy governor, I’m sorry, but that is the truth, so I’m just feeling here, if we’re giving it back to our civil servant, what will happen next six months?.”
