All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has urged the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, to abandon his plans to enrol in school once his tenure ends in 2023.
Speaking at the Kaduna Investment program titled, “Building a resilient economy” held at the Arewa Hall, Kaduna, the state capital, on Saturday, the former governor of Lagos State lavished accolades on El-Rufai. He maintained that Nigeria needs a thinker like the governor of Kaduna State.
He added that El-Rufai’s leadership skills and competence will be required when he eventually wins the 2023 presidential election.
He remarked, “As a visionary governor that you are, we are proud to be associated with what you are doing. And the future is set up for Kaduna State and the country at large.
“I am particularly begging El-Rufai not to run away for additional degrees after his tenure.
“If you leave me on this podium, I will continue to campaign here, begging El-Rufai not to run away from Nigeria in 2023 because we need your (El-Rufai’s) creativity, resilience and ability to turn things around at this critical time,” he added.
El-Rufai reacted by promising to continue working, even part-time.
The APC presidential candidate emphasized that “ease of doing business” and “stable power supply and distribution” will be priorities in his plan to rebuild the economy.
