The Deputy Speaker of the 9th Assembly House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Idris Wase and some lawmakers paid a courtesy visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and some members of the party’s National Working Committee over the leadership of the 10th Assembly.
Premium Politics reported that the ruling party won the majority seats in both the Senate and House of Reps, giving them an edge ahead all other political parties, in deciding who holds what post in the 10th assembly.
However, there has been a crack within the party over the selection of the leadership of both legislative houses.
Meanwhile, APC leaders are calling for a consensus candidate in choosing the NASS leadership. The position does not sit well with some prospective candidates, including Hon. Wase.
However, he has been making consultations within the political circle, and he also decided to consult the chairman and some other leaders of the party.
Announcing the visit via its official Twitter handle, the party wrote, “As part of ongoing consultations over the incoming 10th National Assembly leadership, Deputy Speaker, 9th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, accompanied by some House members, visited the National Chairman, Sen.
Abdullahi Adamu and other members of the NWC.”
