Actress and politician Eniola Badmus caused a stir at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s new film, Owambe Thieves, following a near confrontation with fellow Nollywood star Laide Bakare.
The high-profile event, held on April 13, 2025, at the Filmhouse Cinema, Circle Mall, Jakande, Lagos, was a glamorous affair that featured electrifying performances by Fuji legend K1 De Ultimate and attracted a host of celebrities from the entertainment industry.
Tensions flared when a viral video captured the moment Eniola Badmus appeared visibly displeased upon spotting Laide Bakare on the dance floor. Badmus, who had initially been dancing, abruptly moved away to a different part of the venue and continued dancing elsewhere.
The situation escalated when Laide Bakare later approached her. In the footage, Eniola Badmus was clearly heard saying, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends.”
Another video clip that surfaced online showed Laide Bakare reacting strongly to the comment, visibly upset by the remark as bystanders looked on.
Though the situation did not lead to a physical altercation, the tension between the two actresses became one of the major talking points of the star-studded night.
