Some Nigerians were spotted sleeping at polling units on Friday night in preparation for the forthcoming election.
This was according to a video post made by @prudenceoflago3 on Twitter in the early hours of Saturday.
Speaking in pidgin English, the voice behind the video said, “Omo na 2am be this o. Una see sey everybody mama, papa, pikin, everybody come outside o. For here today. Nigerians don vex.”
However, some tweet respondents think these people are adhoc staff that have been instructed to stay around the polling unit.
@Dele_Josh disagreed saying, “Misleading information. This is a registration area centre (RAC). Where INEC adhoc officers stay overnight to receive materials and prepare for elections.”
@ComradeTrinity_ responded to this comment stating, “This is the correct answer”
Further responding to the tweet itself, @ComradeTrinity_ confirmed, “Not true. They are INEC Adhoc officers.”
Some tweeps however, commended the people as they think it was a show of passion towards changes in Nigeria.
@Realtorkensam said,”love my people, first time in history, please let do more.”
@AzekDr responded, “A new Nigeria will be born today.”
