A Ukrainian delegation is set to travel to London on Wednesday for ceasefire negotiations aimed at halting Russia’s ongoing invasion, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The meeting follows recent discussions in Paris, where United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio introduced Washington’s proposed framework for ending the conflict, now in its third year.
The upcoming talks are part of renewed efforts by European powers and the United States to broker peace.
Despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s ongoing push for a ceasefire agreement, the Kremlin has yet to offer any significant concessions. A short-lived truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin over Easter brought only temporary calm.
“Already this Wednesday, our representatives will be working in London. Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, and the United States – we are ready to move forward as constructively as possible,” Zelenskyy posted on X on Monday.
“An unconditional ceasefire must be the first step toward peace,” he added.
While Zelenskyy did not provide specifics about the other attendees, Rubio had previously indicated that a U.S. delegation would be present at the London talks.
