Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, made history on Wednesday night by becoming the youngest player to score in a UEFA Champions League semi-final, eclipsing the previous record held by Kylian Mbappe.
The teenage sensation delivered a moment of brilliance, slicing through Inter Milan’s defence before curling home a superb strike.
At the time, Barcelona trailed 2-0, following goals from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries.
Yamal’s dazzling solo effort gave the Spanish giants a lifeline, eventually leading to a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg of the semi-final encounter.
At just 17 years and 291 days, the Spain international etched his name into the history books, surpassing Mbappe’s record.
The French forward had set the benchmark in 2017, scoring at 18 years and 140 days during Monaco’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus.
So far in the competition, Yamal has been a standout performer with four goals and four assists in 11 appearances, having found the net in every round of the tournament.
