Former England international, Theo Walcott, believes Paris Saint-Germain will feel they missed an opportunity to secure a more convincing victory over Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final first leg.
PSG claimed a narrow 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night, with Ousmane Dembélé netting the decisive goal just four minutes into the encounter.
The French champions created several other chances throughout the match but were denied by wayward finishing and a series of crucial saves from Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.
Walcott, a former Arsenal star, while speaking to Amazon Prime, emphasized that the Gunners remain very much in the contest due to PSG’s failure to capitalize on their dominance.
“Arsenal are still in the game,” he said. “If it was 2-0 then it would potentially kill the tie. PSG will be disappointed it’s only one.”
The return leg is scheduled for next Wednesday at the Parc des Princes, where both sides will battle for a place in the final.
