The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected back in the country, from his one-month trip to Paris, France, on Monday evening.
ThisDay reported that a Tinubu loyalist, on Saturday, said that Tinubu would arrive in the country on Monday evening, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
The source said, “Asiwaju is coming back on Monday. He will arrive Monday evening.”
Recall that, Tinubu departed the country for France on Tuesday, March 21, just after the much-contended general elections, to rest and plan for his transition and inauguration on May 29.
Tinubu’s media office in a statement in March disclosed that the President-elect travelled to France to rest after the stressful presidential campaign, although, there were speculations that he travelled on the occasion of ill health.
The statement released by his Media team read, “He has directed all the senior aides and campaign staff to also go and observe a short rest.
“He is expected back in the country soon. We enjoin the media to stop publishing rumors and unsubstantiated claims and to always seek clarifications from our office.”
