President Bola Tinubu is expected back in Abuja on or before Wednesday, September 13, following his trips away from the country since the previous week
Tinubu had departed Abuja last week ahead of the G-20 leaders Summit which held at New Delhi, India. There, the president was able to discuss with leaders of other countries and sealed several deals in favor of the nation.
It was also an opportunity for the president to discuss with the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on trade and cultural ties.
After the conclusion of the summit, Tinubu had a technical stopover at Abu Dhabi to meet with the United Arab Emirates leadership.
On Monday, the Nigerian leader met with the President of UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released after the meeting, said both leaders had agreed on a deal to lift the visa ban placed on Nigerian travellers amongst other diplomatic disputes.
In another statement issued on Tuesday, the presidency announced that president Tinubu has departed UAE and is en route Abuja, the country’s capital.
The statement read, “After a successful bilateral meeting with his UAE Counterpart, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Bola Tinubu @officialABAT heads back to Nigeria.”
