President Bola Tinubu held a high-level meeting on Thursday in Paris with the United States State Department Senior Advisor for Africa, Massad Boulos, focusing on regional security and economic cooperation across Africa.
The development was confirmed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday.
According to Onanuga, the meeting centered on enhancing diplomatic collaboration, with particular emphasis on efforts to achieve lasting peace in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
“President Tinubu met with Massad Boulos to discuss regional security, especially collective efforts to support peace in eastern DRC,” Onanuga stated. “They also explored ways to deepen economic cooperation across the African continent.”
The meeting comes as part of President Tinubu’s broader foreign policy agenda aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s international partnerships and leadership role within Africa.
“The talks reflect an increasing level of diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and the United States under President Tinubu’s administration,” Onanuga added.
