Tursday May 25, has been set aside by the Presidential Transition Committee, for the conferment of the highest national honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Rupublic, on the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
This was contained in the schedule of activities for the 2023 Presidential Inauguration, released by the Chairman, Presidential Transition Council, Boss Mustapha.
Mr Mustapha, who doubles as the Secretaryy to the Government of the Federation, released the schedule at a press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja.
The conferrement of this honour, normally done by the outgoing president in Nigeria, who will be confer it on the incoming president, who will be taking over the power from him, but in a case whereby the president dies before his tenure, the function will be performed by the Council of State.
According to the statement, Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima will also get the Grand Commander of Order of the Niger honour, on the same day with Tinubu.
However, the activities will commence with a dinner in honour of the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari on 23 May, 2023.
