President Bola Tinubu has awarded the posthumous national honor of Commander of the Federal Republic to the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The announcement was made by the President during the burial ceremony held in honor of the late Army Chief on Friday.
While addressing attendees at the ceremony, Tinubu praised Lagbaja’s dedication and service to Nigeria, describing him as a patriotic officer whose contributions to national security and military excellence were invaluable.
The CFR is one of Nigeria’s highest honors, typically reserved for individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the nation’s development and defense.
