Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, who transitioned from being a clergyman to a politician, has credited all his achievements in office over the past year to President Bola Tinubu.
During a thank-you tour to the Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency on Friday, Alia expressed his gratitude and detailed the various developments that had been accomplished under his administration.
Governor Alia highlighted that significant infrastructure projects such as the construction of roads, an underpass, and the remodeling of the Assembly Complex and State Secretariat were made possible due to President Tinubu’s support. Additionally, he noted the consistent payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities, attributing these successes directly to the President’s backing.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of the President, Alia stated, “Every achievement I recorded was the handiwork of President Tinubu.” He further emphasized that the President had provided him with unparalleled support and urged the people of Benue State to remain patient, reassuring them that President Tinubu had “very good intentions for the citizenry.”
Among his future plans, Governor Alia promised to renovate and upgrade the Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida Square in Makurdi to international standards, noting that the facilities, built over 30 years ago during the military era, were outdated and in need of urgent attention.
In addition to these commitments, Governor Alia announced a new schedule for the payment of salaries and pensions, stating that these would now be disbursed starting from the 22nd of every month.
