Speaker of Taraba state House of Assembly, Prof. Joseph Albasu Kunini has tendered his letter of resignation.
According to The Vanguard, he resigned his position citing personal reasons.
His letter of resignation was delivered to parliamentarians on Wednesday and read aloud by the Deputy Speaker, Hammanadama Ibn-Abdullahi, who served as Speaker pro-tempore throughout the session.
The Assembly’s Chief Whip, John Kizito Bonzena, who represents Zing State Constituency, was unanimously elected as the new speaker.
