Former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olabode George, has raised concerns over the issue of state police in the country.
The party chieftain said that the country copied American Constitution half way without the inclusion of the establishment of state police.
The Atona of Yoruba land said this while addressing newsmen at his Ikoyi Office, Lagos, on Wednesday.
He reiterates that this is the right time to revisit the issue of state police.
He stated that President Bola Tinubu should not why away from the issue of state police, which would aid in fighting insecurity.
He highlighted that each state in America has its own police and manages its resources as well.
“The time to revisit the issue of state police is now. The president should not shy away from it. We copied the American Constitution, but we copied it halfway. In US, each state has its police and manages its resources,” he said.
