The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has hailed the President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, on his 61st birthday anniversary.
The Speaker described Senator Akpabio as a dependable and an uncommon ally at the 10th National Assembly
In his congratulatory message, Speaker Abbas expressed delight in the fact that Distinguished Senator Akpabio shares the same vision of prosperity for Nigeria and its citizens, according to The Independent.
In a statement signed by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, House of Representatives, the Speaker noted that the Senate President has achieved so much politically within a short time, having been governor of Akwa Ibom State for two terms, member of the Senate, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, and now the President of the Senate.
He said Senator Akpabio remains a democrat and a patriot, who should be celebrated by all well-meaning Nigerians on the occasion of his 61st birthday.
Speaker Abbas also noted that Senate Akpabio has contributed immensely to the growth of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The Speaker prayed to God to grant Senate President Akpabio a long life, good health, and more wisdom to successfully manage the affairs of the 10th National Assembly.
