President Bola Tinubu has received praise from a group called Southwest Professional Youths Network for recently choosing three young people as his advisers.
Recall that on June 15, 2023, President Tinubu named eight advisers.
The newly appointed officials are: John Uwajumogu, 46, Olu Verheijen, 46, and Zacchaeus Adedeji, 45.
Verheijen, who will assist Tinubu on energy matters, has almost 20 years of expertise in the oil, gas, electricity, and renewable energy industries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Adedeji is a qualified accountant with over 15 years of experience who specializes in corporate tax and public finance development and has worked in corporate accounting, public service administration, and given consultancy services to international corporations and governments.
Uwajumogu has more than 20 years of consultancy expertise, mostly in the oil sector, and has extensive knowledge of the Houston, Texas and Calgary, Alberta energy industries.
The Southwest group’s convener, Comrade Seun Adeaanu, asked President Tinubu to keep up the pace of selecting young people for the government.
He urged the president to keep the young individuals from the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Nigeria has a sizable youth population, and appointing young people to positions of authority can help to ensure that their perspectives and interests are adequately represented.
“Younger people are frequently more accustomed to technology and digital technologies. This knowledge can help implement effective governance systems in a society that is continually evolving,” he said.
